DMV locals! Join me for a yoga, meditation & hiking experience at Turkey Run Park off of the George Washington Memorial Parkway :D This National Park is the perfect setting for bringing the benefits of nature & yoga together, & here’s what that looks like:
Half hour yoga flow to warm up the muscles
Multi-waterfall/stream hike in a park almost totally shaded by beautiful, tall trees
Ten minute meditation right on the Potomac River (at the spot in the photo above!)
Hike back to the front for a half hour Yin yoga session to stretch out
Community time with low calorie, vegan snacks provided by local DC company Snacklins!
& now it’s time for the “fine print” details ‘cause ya know ya gotta have those. The events will all be about two hours long & there are 15 spots available for each one! As stated above, snacks are provided, but you do need to bring your own water/drink (preferably in a reusable bottle!) & make sure to bring your own yoga mat! I do have two extras just in case that are first come, first serve, so please let me know ahead of time if you’ll need one.
Also previously stated, the park is mostly covered/shaded, but if you have sensitive skin/eyes I’d definitely recommend sunscreen &/or sunglasses. & it’s a very accessible hike; there are no big hills or rocks to climb, so sneakers would be just fine! But there are a couple of streams to cross, so if you have water-resistant or super grippy shoes, wear ‘em! Finally (& always the ickiest to talk about), there will be no refunds within 72 hours of the event.
